Instructors for 2008 Summer Art Classes:

Sculpting in Paperclay
Throughout this three-day workshop, Lorri will present participants with a new way of working with clay. Using paperclay (regular ceramic clay with paper pulp added to it), she teaches skills and techniques that encourage fragile and elongated forms that are often regarded as impossible to make and fire. The class will culminate in an actual raku firing, during which time your piece will be fired. Each participant will leave class with a finished clay sculpture. During this class Lorri will teach you the fun, hands-on, and experimental concepts and techniques and then allow you to “go for it” during the three days you are together, opening your mind to a new way of working with clay. This will be a unique opportunity for participants and should not be missed.
Supplies: ceramic tools and ceramic paperclay. (Paperclay can be purchased in class for $10/bag.)
