The Center for the Arts Evergreen is pleased to announce its
next art exhibition opening Friday, August 29th, 5:00pm-8:00pm, as part of
the Evergreen Galleries monthly Last Friday Art Walk. “900 Santa Fe
Drive Exhibition” will explore the styles, esthetics and varied artistic
mediums of the artists that reside in the galleries at “900 Santa Fe
Drive” in Denver. Twenty-four artists are presented in this show that
represents three unique and diverse art galleries; Core New Art Space Gallery,
Spark Gallery and Fresh Art Gallery. This exhibition promises to be an exciting
explosion of diverse art works that highlights both contemporary and traditional
themes in art. The exhibition closes Sunday, Sept. 21.
Core New Art Space has had many locations in its 25 year history as a cooperative
gallery that promotes and supports an independent approach to contemporary
art. Its artists, working in all mediums, represent varied views and subject
matter that embody a freedom of expression and encourages personal growth.
Melissa Rackliff one of the artists represented in the show, and the organizer
and curator of the exhibition, has been a member of Core gallery for five
years.
Adjacent to Core is Spark Gallery, a cooperative gallery since 1978, represents
a large stable of artists, many of whom have earned regional and national
recognition. These artists work in a variety of artistic mediums including
drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, found objects, embroidery, assemblage,
encaustic, ceramics, photography and installation art. Their work has been
represented at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival, North American Sculpture Exhibition,
the All Colorado Art Exhibit and many national galleries and museums. Both
Core and Spark are non-profit cooperative galleries run by the artists themselves
who take turns working at the gallery and installing the exhibitions.
Just behind Core and Spark galleries is the Fresh Art Studios which houses
a number of private artist studios and galleries featuring art works in various
mediums including book arts, painting and photography.
