Dali on Tour: Opening Reception, Friday, January 27, 5-8pm

Since 2003 the Center for the Arts Evergreen has welcomed visitors from the mountain community and from around the world. Our location in the wooded park next to Buchanan Recreation Center makes us a convenient stop in the middle of a busy day. Visitors come to view our ever-changing exhibitions or to take in a concert or special noon "Brown Bag" lecture program. We are a pleasant refuge, a good place to read your favorite poetry, visit with friends, or just sit in an atmosphere filled with thought-provoking art and ideas. Our classrooms are always a beehive of activities, whether filled with adults or children, novice or expert, all seeking to learn new techniques or to hone existing skills under the guidance of our expert teaching core. Our class offerings offer a wide selection to choose from: fine art, writing, crafts, and more. We are here to serve our community and we thank all of them for the support they give us.

There is no need to wait for an invitation to a special event (of which there are many at the Art Center). Just come by and visit. We would love to welcome you.

Show Me the Monet, Claude

One of the most popular periods in the history of art is unquestionable French Impressionism. With its bright colors and multiple personal styles it gave way to the modern era in painting and sculpture and later photography. One of the most celebrated artist of this period was Claude Monet. His canvases exploring the French landscape and other natural scenes are the prized pieces of many of the world’s great museums. With the help of Evergreen artist Tom Ware, Claude Monet has come to the Center for the Arts Evergreen to help in our 2011 annual fund raising campaign.

We are proud to present “Show me the Monet, Claude”. With Claude’s help we hope to raise $15,000. The Monet starts out as a black and white “paint by numbers” piece, and we ask you to help us fill her in with your donations in increments of $100. You can fill in one or many. We hope everyone will fill in at least one space and help us meet out goal. This year’s proceeds will support the multitude of community oriented events and programs that we present, including: 12 monthly diverse art exhibitions; Arts in the Schools; Arts, Crafts and Writing classes; Art in the Park for Pre-School Children; High School Art Exhibitions; Arts Festivals; Kids’ Summer Art Camps; Brown Bag Luncheon Lecture; programs for our senior citizens; special programs for adults with developmental disabilities; concerts; collaborations with other local and nonprofit organizations, and much, much more.

Every donor will be recognized and all contributions are tax deductible. But more importantly, you are investing in your community art center. We would not be here without you and we hope to be here for a long time to come!
